There are many different festivals and celebrations in the region of Catalonia. Some of these festivals come from the Christian traditionfor example Christmas, Easter processions, etc. Others come from older pagan traditions, such as the festival of Saint John, celebrated in honor of the summer solstice.

Besides these, there are major festivals celebrated in every town or city to remember their patron or protectors.

Whatever the celebration is, in Catalan festivals there are always three common elements: fire, music and dance. The most traditional ones have also parades, fireworks, dances and songs.
